I drafted plans of DeVilleroi's (pre-USS Alligator) Salvage Submarine (I call it the Alligator Junior) after many talks with Jim Christley and other submarine historians and the producer from the Discovery Science Channel who will be shoot the video. David Merriman III is building an RC USS Alligator model. Since there were no photos and only sketchy drawings we had to guess on some items, but at least it looks kinda cool!

A producer from the Discovery Science Channel contacted me after seeing the stuff I had done with my scratch HL Hunley model. He wanted me to build an RC version of the US Navy's first submarine, the USS Alligator. I hooked him up with Dave Merriman to do that one, but I (foolishly) agreed to build a sub that Brutus DeVilleroi built before he built the Alligator.
The video shoot is in the Washington DC area - October 4-5, 2004. Follow my buildup progress at www.rc-submarines.com/Alligator_Junior/
